Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you based?
Cheryl Bottomley Cakes is based in Huddersfield, (near Brighouse), West Yorkshire. I deliver wedding cakes all around Yorkshire and sometimes beyond
Do you deliver cakes?
Absolutely! I prefer to deliver and set up tiered cakes. This is to ensure the cake is delivered safely. You are more than welcome to collect your cake, however I cannot be held responsible for any damage once it has left my premises
If you decide to collect your cake I will provide instructions on safe transportation
Deliver charges will be advised as part of your quote
How far in advance do I need to order?
I only take on a small number of cakes each week, this is so I can focus solely on your beautiful design
Summer months book quickly therefore I would recommend booking 9-12 in advance
Can the tiers on my cake be different flavours?
Yes of course! Most couples have each tier in a different flavour. Take a look at my flavour menu here
Do you require a deposit?
Yes a non refundable deposit of £75 secures your date. This is deducted from your cake balance
You can make your payment by clicking the link below
Do you cater for dietary requirements?
I do not offer allergy free cakes. My cakes contain gluten, dairy & nuts, therefore I would ask that you inform me if any guests have nut allergies. This is also discussed during your consultation
Do you hire cake stands?
I have various stands for hire. It is £15 to hire the stand and a security deposit is taken which is refunded once the stand is returned undamaged within 5 days
The deposit varies depending on the cost of the stand
How long does a cake last?
My cakes are baked fresh for the day of your wedding, therefore it is advised to be consumed on that date. Cakes will generally last a few days longer if they are stored correctly
If you want to keep a tier to enjoy at a later date this can be discussed during your consultation
What hygiene rating are you?
I have received a full inspection of my kitchen by my local council and received a food hygiene rating of 5 which is the highest rating you can achieve
I also hold my level 2 in food hygiene and have public liability insurance
